I wrote this book almost a decade ago, and at the time, I had plans for this to be a 4-part young adult, dark fantasy series and then have a spinoff with the next generation. I had the second book in the series almost finished when my computer crashed, and I lost the work (ugh, I know…learn to back up!). My muse pretty much is in sulk mode when it comes to this series, but I am planning on revisiting it sometime in the future, even if that means just skipping ahead to the spinoff.
Seventeen-year old Kesan is both an illegitimate prince and a rare golemist — an Elemage that can call golems of fire, water, earth, and air. However, instead of accepting his status and honing his gifts, he’d rather live his life as a normal villager, spending his days with Isa, the girl he loves.
Now he must choose who he is meant to be.
When a malevolent spirit gives Isa what she wants most, Kesan will have to call upon the two things he’d rather deny to save his village and all he loves.
